I travelled out to Kent for Jo & Jeremy's beautiful wedding in June. Jo is just like her ma, so sparkly and vivacious and it was lovely to see them together before we headed to the church.

It was that day in June, when the weather couldn't decide what it was doing.

I am very excited about this week; I have a wedding in London to photograph on Wednesday for Jingjing & Beiyang in Bayswater and a relaxing weekend of editing to catch up on. I have so much to blog and still so much to do, I'm a little over-excited by it all!

I am a little behind with my blogging this week-there really is just so much to do at this time of year. I am looking at six amazing weddings that need their edits finished, three engagements and one family portrait session. I also have a brand new blog coming up next week which is a little overdue.
I feel a bit like that crazy little rabbit from Alice in Wonderland...

Looking ahead to my seventh wedding edit on Sunday, did you know Wellies & Vogue is getting married? I did and I can't wait to photograph her pretty head. Come rain or shine Tori, it's going to beautiful!

I am so thrilled to have so many such beautiful weddings to photograph this year; this really is the best job ever.

Lindsey & Tim | Chloe Browne: London Wedding Photographer

Lindsey & Tim live and were married in June in Covent Garden, London. I loved their sense of style and clearly how important their families were to them both on their wedding day. 

I wish that every bride got ready in a beautiful blue room. 

I walked through the old cobbled streets, to St Paul's on the piazza

and met a cat who lives in a church.

Walking to the reception, it struck me just how classic these two looked, like something from another point in time. Don't you think?

It just occurred to me that we're now almost in August. In the past month, I've delivered four weddings and photographed three, had two engagement sessions, met with five brides, had bad news, a migraine and two lots of very brilliant and exciting news. I even made time for a Saturday off and spanked a lot of polaroids down on Brighton beach.

I have another London city wedding to photograph on Friday and then a day out of the city in Henley on Saturday, with tipis and wellies and a Dutch wedding party. Summer is very good to me.

Michelle & Luca | Chloe Browne: Wedding photographer in Tuscany

Michelle & Luca live in the US, where they met and fell utterly in love. Michelle is Malaysian-Italian and Luca, un bel Pratese-Italian. They make such a sweet couple and it is so lovely to see how he makes her sparkle-so pretty and happy. 

With the Italian-connection, they chose to have a beautiful wedding reception at La Limonaia, in Prato, Italy. I literally gasped in amazement as I walked through the gates into the villa-I couldn't stop beaming at just how simply beautiful everything was. 

There was a little conversation, complete with hand gestures and knowing looks... 

a photobooth...

and even a group hug.

Thank you both so much for having me at your wedding and for treating me too like an old friend. You really are both, so truly lovely and I wish you all the greatest things for your new married life together.

The past few weeks have absolutely flown by and I have an awful lot of editing ahead of me. There are six beautiful weddings sat on this mac, waiting for their final edits, printing, wrapping and posting. 

I have a very London wedding to share next-Think piazzas, entertainers and Christian Dior.

British Journal of Photography ~ July Issue

This time last week, I had just come home from a day spent at Unveiled, an event held by the British Journal of Photography in association with Wedding magazine and Hasselblad. The event was aimed at wedding photographers in the UK; those established and aspiring. 

I was thrilled to be asked by the BJP to speak about my experience in the wedding photography industry and to stand up alongside Kat of the infamous RocknRoll bride, to talk about how I began Caught the Light. 

I absolutely love my job and feel very passionately about natural wedding photography, believing that there's a direct correlation between valuing your product as a photographer and loving each wedding from start-to-finish. 

I met some lovely new people, wide-eyed and eager to start-up, but also a very nice man called Eddie, who had been photography weddings for 38 years. Can you imagine?! It was a great experience for me to meet some colleagues and discuss all sorts of wedding photography things. 

The July issue of the BJP also features a little about me in the Intelligence section. I was interviewed to discuss a bit about how important things like this blog, Facebook & increasingly Twitter, have become to me as a photographer. I like being able to update my website each week with weddings and things like this and I love reading your thoughts and opinions too.

So, when you get a minute, have a look at the latest issue of the BJP or better still, pick up a subscription using the discount code Unveiled. It's a beautiful monthly and they've just revamped the website, so it's cleaner and more aesthetically aware than ever.

Carey and James are a lovely, down-to-earth couple who got married in the first week in June. They held their reception at the very stylish Anchor Inn in the very quaint Hampshire, out in the English countryside. I have never been to such a fantastic pub in all of my life and I'm not proud to admit that I've visited a fair few. We had such beautiful weather that everyone was in the highest of spirits, which really made for quite the perfect day.

This one I took with the almighty Hasselblad H4 D40, loaned to me by the ever-generous Hasselblad Pro Centre. 

They even gave me a lovely assistant to hold it and help me get this 100mm lens on.

The evening light was so beautiful, I managed to sneak them off for just a few more minutes.

This one they chose to make into a Thank You card and I'm so glad they did. 

It's my absolute favourite from the whole day.

Now that this wedding is edited and delivered, it's time to crack on with the other four that have followed and gear up for
a wedding this Saturday in Manchester. It's a busy time of year and I love it.

I met Philippa and James a few months ago, to talk about their wedding in July. Philippa is one of the most stylish people I have ever met; she's so poised and cool, she's the kind of girl you imagine characters in films being based on. For their engagement session, they took me to the beautiful hidden gem that is Petersham Nurseries in Richmond and waited patiently for me to calm down and refocus on them-there were so many pretty things to look at!

We then had a wander next door through an absolutely huge field.
Richmond is such a beautiful place to be on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

I cannot wait for their wedding next month-with all the details and ideas they have planned, it is guaranteed to be amazing. I love nothing more than arriving at a wedding and not even wanting to put my camera down.

I know I've been a bit of a bad blogger of late, but I have been flat out this week with meetings and visits and lunches with brides, so I now have four weddings due up here soon. I have some exciting new changes coming up in the next few weeks too, so keep your eyes peeled!

I could not believe how beautiful a venue Little Hermitage was, when I turned up on on a dazzling April morning, to photograph Lois & Steve's wedding. An old Georgian house is a very lovely place to get married, with a great big green garden and a beautiful room to get ready in. With a glass or two of champagne, of course.

I'm off to Tuscany this weekend to photograph a very special wedding and I simply cannot wait-I hope to even squeeze in a day off whilst we're there too. Perhaps we'll go to Siena or Florence or just sit in a piazza and eat ourselves into oblivion. I really do love Italy; it's food, culture, heritage and I am sure, its weddings too.

Hannah & Tom are a very lovely couple who I met for a chat about their wedding at the beginning of the year. Hannah loves and is also studying theatre, so we decided to go for a bit of a walk around London's theatre district, after a little balancing act in St James' park.

I'm looking forward to their Wiltshire wedding in October even more after our hour about town. I know it's going to be a day full of Hannah's cheeky grin, with it being the one that Tom gives her.

I can't believe how quickly this year is flying and too how quickly next year looms. I've taken quite a few bookings for 2011 in the past month-it's amazing how many of my brides are so well-organised!

I have lots to blog in the next few weeks; a beautiful invitation to a very London wedding, Lois & Steve's full wedding post and perhaps I'll make room for some more engagement sessions too before I leave for Tuscany for a really special one. So much to do and so little time... and so to bed.

Cape Town, South Africa | Chloe Browne : London Wedding Photographer

A couple of months ago, we went to Cape Town, for Richard & Sanchia's wedding and decided to make a really good holiday of it. 

On our first day, we rushed down to a beach bar to have cocktails in the setting sun with the very lovely Emma Norén and her handsome Ricky. 

This is my first photo taken with her beautiful Rolleiflex-there's something sweet about taking a photographer's photo. Emma photographed our wedding last year and for that, I adore her. 

We had so much organised for when we visited Cape Town, looking back at all the photos, I am amazed we fitted it all in.

Africa has some truly amazing animals. 

I can't take credit for that one that my husband took as I was 
actually in the water, in a cage, barking like a seal.

We ate at my second favourite restaurant ever, Cape to Cuba

Took a walk to the Malay quarter and Bo Kaap  

And finished the trip with drinks with new friends.

I'm now off away again for a few days, this time to Sicily to eat, sleep and take photos. Then I'm back to work on two weddings next week, in Covent Garden and the country. It's going to be a really good week.

British Journal of Photography~Unveiled | Chloe Browne : London Wedding Photographer

I was doubly thrilled recently to have had one of my images printed in the May issue of the British Journal of Photography, to advertise an event I'll be speaking at in a secret location in London, on July 1st.  

You may be able to grab a copy of the British Journal of Photography's  May edition quickly before the June issue goes on sale. It's a very  beautiful magazine which takes a good look behind the scenes of  photography and discusses the latest British photography campaigns, with  insight and a discerning eye.  

At Unveiled, I'll be being interviewed by the infamous Kat of Rocknrollbride fame, talking a little bit about my photography style and how I found a spot in the British wedding photography market. The event is supported by Hasselblad and so I've also been asked to trial the newest addition to the Hasselblad H range, the  H4D40, before the event which I am very excited about. It's an amazing  medium format camera and I'll even get to use it on an actual wedding too! 

The editor of Wedding  magazine, Catherine Westwood will be there too, so it will be  interesting to hear about the wedding industry from both her print and  Kat's online perspective.  

Any of you who have met me know how much I love to talk, but it's still a  little bit intimidating getting up in front of big groups of people;  especially those industry professionals who read the BJP and look to  Hasselblad as the respected brand that it is. Here is a very quick sneak peek of Lois & Steve, from their April wedding at Little Hermitage, in Kent. It was a beautifully hot day (remember those, England?) and the venue, Georgian and amazing.

As ever, I am snowed under a mountain of images to edit, but I'll share this full post soon. I almost wish editing wasn't such an important process for me, but it is and therefore takes quite a while. I think I've had my fill of 2am bedtimes lately though, so this is it for now. 

I'll get around to blogging some of my personal photos too soon, from a brilliant week spent in South Africa. Then it will be time to jet off to Sicily for some cucina Siciliana (buono) and a glass or two of Brachetto (ancora meglio). 

Kristina & Baljit | Chloe Browne : Wedding Photographer in Denmark

When I arrived on the tiny island of Samsø in Denmark for Kristina & Baljit's wedding, I knew it was going to be something different. They chose a very intimate venue with family and just a handful of friends each. I have never seen two different cultures, talk and laugh as if they've known each other forever. I've posted more on the people for this wedding; as that's really what it was all about.

Kristina & Baljit wanted to have some photos taken before their ceremony began, so we drove around for a while, stopping off wherever we liked. It was so good to be unhurried and I think we got some lovely portraits along the way. I honestly could photograph you two as long as I live. You are so beautiful.

Then came a dinner, some speeches and a dance

Before it was time to say goodbye.

I love Danes and Brits and weddings by the sea. How lucky am I to have this as a job? 

Sharon & Rich ~ Engaged | Chloe Browne: London Wedding Photographer

A few weeks ago, I met up with the very lovely Sharon & Rich for their engagement session in Clapham. It's always nice to be able to photograph clients in an area that means something to them, so it was good to have a wander around the town they call home. 

Sharon has the most beautiful vintage engagement ring; it's huge and perfectly unique. Rarely do I get ring envy, but I was absolutely green with this one.

We only took a few minutes for portraits as we were quite busy organising photos that they're going to use on their wedding day as their table numbers. I loved the idea when Sharon proposed it and it was really interesting looking for different ways to photograph them along the high street and common. Here are four of my favourites.

I am really looking forward to their October wedding, which they're holding here, at the beautiful Newick Park in Sussex. This year is positively flying by-can you believe we're already in May? Here's hoping those volcanoes keep quiet; I have a wedding in Italy at the end of the month!

Jazelyn & Darren make a very cute couple. He's English and she's American and they live in a very cool part of London-Westbourne Grove. When Jazelyn sent me a message about having an engagement session, I was very excited as I knew they'd want to head to the infamous Portobello Road. They were such great fun to photograph and I'm dying to find out where they choose to have their wedding. They're trying to decide between Europe & the USA... Barcelona gets my vote, Darren.

 

I'm off to photograph Lois & Steve's wedding tomorrow. They're getting married here at Little Hermitage in Kent, the Garden of England. I'm hoping for a beautiful clear day today as this week has been lovely in London-not an ash cloud in sight. Fingers crossed!

Albums & Discs: Chloe Browne | London Wedding Photographer

I try to be a wedding photographer that I myself would hire. So, when I put together packages I take into consideration what creative brides may like and what they might like to organise themselves. I provide high-resolution images on disc to all of my couples, so they're able to print and share their photos as they wish, with the option to buy custom-designed albums if they would like them too. The majority of my clients prefer to organise their own albums, being artists, designers or just those who love a good rummage through Paperchase.

After much hunting and sampling, I finally came across a book company that I really liked. They allow me complete flexibility in album layout and design and provide a simple, matte, digitally-printed album on fine art paper, with a really beautiful texture.

Whilst I'm at it, I thought I should share the personalised discs that I always provide with my packages. I want them to be exciting to open, so they come hand-wrapped and ribboned too. 

I have Jazelyn & Darren's engagement session from last month along Portobello Road, to post this weekend. I'll see if I can sneak it in before I leave bright and early for Lois & Steve's wedding at Little Hermitage, in Kent. If the weather is anything like what it was last weekend, it's going to be an absolute lens-flare fest.

Sanchia & Richard ~ Cape Town | Chloe Browne: Wedding Photographer in Cape Town

I met Sanchia three years ago, working as a hairdresser in Camden. She was the first hairdresser to tell me that my thick and unruly hair was actually beautiful and instantly, we were friends. Together, Sanchia & Richard are a truly fantastic couple; large-hearted, vivacious and very, very stylish, so I was priviledged to photograph their intimate garden ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa whilst there on holiday last month.

Here are all of my favourites, get ready for a gargantuan post:

Held in her aunt's back garden, there were just 20 of us, but lots of  tears, wine, beer and a real Capetonian braai. Having never  photographed such an intimate wedding before, I was able to wander  around and take my time capturing really relaxed portraits of everyone,  in all types of beautiful afternoon light. 

This is Oupa-he's 93 years old, survived world war II and
the entire family adores him.

I also met the beautiful Donna Hay,
a very successful Cape Town make-up artist.

The following week, we went to Richard & Sanchia's ceremonial wedding on a mountainside in Hout Bay, where the very talented Ryan Graham photographed their day. I was familiar with his work before the wedding and was so happy to see what a great job he did with their photography. You can see photos of their editorial portraits, ceremony and reception over on his blog. 

Thank  you Sanch & Rich for a beautiful time in Cape Town. I love  you  both.

Lia & Gerald | Chloe Browne: London Wedding Photographer

I photographed Lia & Gerald's wedding exactly one month ago at the chic Haymarket Hotel in London, so it's about time really that I shared their full post.

Lia was so elegant in her sophisticated dress and vintage jewelery and was such a pleasure to photograph with those beautiful smiling eyes. Gerald's dapper suit perfectly matched his debonair swagger-he looked to me as if he had just wandered out of the Rat Pack.

I loved each and every one of the twelve hours I spent at this wedding-thank you for choosing me to share it with you. Here are a few of my favourites.

Tonight, I'm saying goodbye to Rob & Laura who I photographed around town last year. They're moving on to pastures new after a decade in London, so we're giving them a royal send-off. Then tomorrow, I'm going to a small island called Samsø in Denmark, to photograph what is going to be a very intimate Danish/English wedding. Wish me luck!

I've had two brides this week ask about Super8 film and talk about lomography, so I thought it fitting to post some of my holiday Holga film. She's a tempremental beast of a plastic camera who loves to leak in light, but I love her. She was in fact, my wedding day gift, so here are a few from my honeymoon roll: Paris & Cuba. 

Unlike many sensible wedding photographers, I'm taking my big holiday at the start of the year, before wedding season spirals into a photographing frenzy for me. 

We're heading to South Africa, which is supposed to be beautiful. If you haven't seen Flashbacks of a Fool, it's definitely worth it for the light alone. Whilst there, we'll be going to our first wedding as husband & wife. We're usually husband & she's-over-there-with-the-cameras. 

I'm technically out of the office until April 2nd, but will be checking emails every few days, so do drop me a line.  Sorry if I've not been able to squeeze you in before my trip (it's been a frantic few weeks), but I'll be making up for lost time as soon as I'm home.

Lastly, if anybody out there can recommend a UK Super8 videography company, please do let me know. And if not, someone should really tap into that niche. And quickly! 

Lia & Gerald ~ A Sneak Peek: Chloe Browne | London Wedding Photographer

Just a quick sneak peek of Lia & Gerald's wedding on Saturday at the ever-so-London Haymarket Hotel. I had to steal them outside and away from the crowd for a couple of minutes, before they got hauled back inside for the party. 

I now have a mountain of editing ahead of me this week and then it's off for some much-needed southern hemisphere sunshine.

When I lived in Queens Park, the Salusbury Deli was my favourite café. It had local photography on the walls, secret benches out the back and amazing melanzane alla parmigiana.

It had changed a bit since I last had breakfast there-sat with my husband the day before we left for our wedding last year. There are now cool lights, tables sprawled with newspapers and walls full of eclectic frames.  

If you're going to the Salusbury, it's probably best you take Mel with you. She's very good for a chat, can tell you all about Paul Smith's mainline dresses and she's a good giggler too.

Usually, I'd gush about how much I loved photographing this little one, but I don't want to bore you. She's a real cute head and these are a few of my favourite photos of my friends' beautiful little girl, Miss Tallulah.

I think she gets the eyebrow from her dad...

I have one last weekend off before wedding season begins for me this year at The Haymarket Hotel in London on the first weekend in March. 

Having two months off to recharge and catch up with paperwork has been necessary, but I really have missed photographing my weddings-the adrenalin, the backstage pass, the details, the tears, the laughing... I really do love my job.

Bath and Abroad | Chloe Browne: London Wedding Photographer

Since my last wedding of 2009, I've had a little time on my hands to do things that get reserved for the quieter time of the year. I've visited family and photographed babies, sat in cafés all afternoon catching up with books and good friends and even managed to spend a night out of London.

I had never been all that bothered with a trip to Bath. It seemed to me that the Roman baths would be a little bit underwhelming, considering I spent eighteen months riding past the Colosseo twice a week in la cittá eterna, eating cacio e pepe and trying my hardest to learn Romanesco. But, when my husband suggested escaping London for a night at the end of last year, Bath seemed as good a place as any considering all the travel I would be doing this year.

Not only are the Roman baths absolutely amazing for their history and the story behind their rediscovery, but they actually still work to some extent, channeling hot water up from the earth to steam up your glasses if you lean too close.

We also came across this little gem tucked away from the high street. I can't claim to be a vintage vixen, but I sometimes think I was definitely born in the wrong era.

The next few weeks are relatively quiet ones for me; catching up on admin and meeting more summer brides, before I gear up for my first wedding of the year in March. There's time for a few days in South Africa before I'll be back to work in Denmark and then Italy the following month with a few English weddings to photograph in between. Then it's onwards to Switzerland for what I am sure is going to be a wedding full of amazing ambience, details and internationality in July.

I am so fortunate to have met so many destination couples this year; it's such an exciting one for travel. I really can't wait.

Katherine & Paul ~ engaged | Chloe Browne: London Wedding Photographer

I met Katherine & Paul at the Pavillion Cafe in Victoria Park, East London, on a bright and (still) frosty Sunday morning.

We sat down and spoke about how they met and what things they have planned for their April wedding.

Then when we were frozen, we headed for brunch over to one of my favourite streets, Columbia Road, for hot chocolate and some window shopping.

Katherine & Paul are such a lovely couple and I'm so glad to have had a few quick minutes outside with them on such a beautiful and fresh day. They're getting married in Cambridgeshire but unfortunately, I'm not covering their wedding as I'll be in Denmark photographing a tiny island wedding instead. It's a bitter-sweet life.

You remind me a little of Michelle Pfeiffer, Katherine-Paul's a very lucky man.

I had both the lovely Emily at Once Wed and the incredibly cool Kat at RockNRollBride both write beautiful features on my most recent wedding. I will admit that I thought this would be a popular one when I spoke to Ella about Sam's suit and pried some details from her about that dress. I didn't know though, that she was going to look as amazing as she did, nor that there would be a surprise song during the wedding...

It's always excellent when I have my work featured, but to have a double post between the US and the UK was really exciting. I know a lot of my ideal brides look to Once Wed for inspiration, as do I as a photographer, so it's been great to organise meets with a whole new audience. I have an exceptionally busy next few weeks on my hands!

You might recognise this bride from a wedding I photographed in September for her sister, with the red shoes. It turns out that style runs in the family...

I don't think I could write enough to explain how special it really was. Not only was Sam the most besotted groom, he laughed and joked all day in his bow tie and floral shirt, whilst Ella beamed and grinned and looked amazing at their very emotional English Heritage wedding in Greenwich. It was then off to the local wine vaults for a secret dinner, decked out with candles and hand-chosen gifts for everyone.

Such beautiful people, such beautiful details, such a beautiful day. Thank you both so much for letting me record it for you; it was an absolute honour.

Well, what a busy one 2010 is proving to be. In the past week, I have: photographed a very cute tot, a brand new cafe, had a quick engagement session in the park (with snow), met three stunning brides with most beautiful eyes, booked two destination weddings and a few UK weddings too, and finished & delivered a very exciting wedding to a berry-brown bride, fresh from her honeymoon. It's been a brilliant week.

I have a quick sneak peek of her wedding to share, with a full post to come next week. I fear it's going to take me a while to whittle down my favourites...

I'm off now to the SWPP convention to meet some new album suppliers and buy some new kit. It's raining, but it's a good day; I've just had cheese on toast for breakfast.

Whilst everyone is talking about the snow in London, and the cold, and the traffic and having the heating on all day... I am warm inside, at The Stag, listening to The Doors and playing Scrabble.

Cold is a good time to meet brides and grooms and to get excited about weddings planned in the sun. I have some very exciting outdoor weddings to photograph this year and I am literally counting down the days. Roll on Summertime.

I have a most beautiful wedding to show you soon; my last of 2009. English Heritage, a wine cellar, ruffles and a bow tie. I think you'll like it.

Well, what a beautiful year it has been. So many weddings, so many new friends, so many photos...

I've had the pleasure of photographing weddings all over London this year, in sun, rain and snow and I've loved them all. Here are a few, but by no means all, of my favourites:

2010 is going to be amazing with so many exciting weddings coming up from Covent Garden to the countryside, here and abroad. I cannot wait.

My friends Debbie & Jared have the most beautiful little boy. His name is Jake and he has the biggest and cheekiest blue eyes. He's so gorgeous, I am not the only one to have picked up on it.

Debs & I went for a walk around Hyde Park last week; up by the fountains, along to the adventure playground and back home with a latte. I think we tired him out well enough but I will admit to being on the unfit side of exhausted too. 13 hours on your feet in heels with two heavy cameras at a wedding is nothing compared to half an hour in the park with this one:

Sometimes, when you're still fragile from the flu, just a walk to the shops wrapped up nice and warm, makes you feel so much better. Fresh air, time to wander, a coffee and a little slice of cake (or two...) It just does the trick.

Just finished the edit from last Saturday's wedding in Kent and I couldn't not share this photo. There were flashfloods, howling winds and cloudy skies, but Sarah & Marek brightened things up. We only got 5 minutes outside before being windswept back into the car, but this photo made the wet lens and hair frizz, worth it.

I met Deano one afternoon along the Southbank, selling hot peanuts. I used to think what a horrible job it would be to work on the street, selling stuff like this. But he changed my mind. He offered me some, but I wasn't hungry, so I just took his photo instead. Standing under a bridge along the river, he looked to me like South London.

He was really polite, a tiny bit shy and I liked his smiley eyes.

Tom and Celina got married last month in Hammersmith, West London with their reception held in the grounds of Wimbledon Park Golf Club. I was thrilled to have a truly autumnal wedding-something quite different from the last two sunny ones, so I got quite carried away with details.

The light was dark and moody, which was different and beautiful and worked quite dramatically with the venue's grounds and lake. Tom and Celina were very cool and came outside in the cold with me, where Celina insisted on taking her pretty wrap off to fully show the very beautiful dress she hand-made herself. Amazing.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a not only beautiful young lady, but also a very talented singer, homegrown in my very own London Town. Lea Lea Jones is sweet and self-effacing, but she certainly turned some heads in Brick Lane in all the vintage clothes provided by Beyond Retro.

We got told off by the shop owner for taking this next photo outside without permission and I had to apologise profusely. I do this well, being English. I think it was worth it.

Lea Lea's single Cake is celebrating it's release with a launch party at Punk, Soho on November 11th, 2009. Make sure you get tickets. See you there.

The lovely Kat at RocknRollBride.com has featured Tara & Lawrence's Greenwich wedding, which I had the absolute privilege of photographing in September.

Tara was the most Rock n Roll bride I have photographed so far. That hair, the shoes and oh my, all those pearls! It helped that she had a very hot groom in a Paul Smith suit too, obviously.

I am thrilled that Kat's found their photos worthy of a post; RocknRollBride is The style guide for all the coolest unconventional brides. She's featured work by the magnificent Marianne Taylor and my favourite homegrown talent, Jodie Chapman. If you're getting married (ever), bookmark her blog for inspiration. Laura loves Rob... | Chloe Browne: London Wedding photographer

Here are the last of Rob & Laura's portrait session along the Thames. It was clearly a beautiful day and by the end of our few hours walking around town, I think Rob had forgotten I was there.

On Sunday, Laura told me this was one of her favourites and she even compared me to one of my favourite photographers. This was at the pub though, and I think she thought I was getting the next round...

We ended up back at theirs with Rob playing some guitar and teaching me not to be afraid of Garage Band. He's incredibly talented and possibly one of the sweetest men I have ever met. And that's why Laura loves Rob.

I had the pleasure of photographing two friends of mine to celebrate their fantastic five years of marriage. Laura is aColombiana and Rob is from Canadia, so they wanted to have some cool photos in their favourite spots, to remember their time spent in London in the years to come. 

It was a brilliantly sunny day and I have so many favourites, I'm going to split it into two posts. Here is the first lot; it's amazing what you can do with an hour in Holland Park.

We met a gorgeous little sausage dog {is that what they're called?}, with the shiniest little eyes.

and Rob strutted his stuff on an impromptu catwalk.

right before they saved me from falling to my death off a park bench. No photos of that though, thank you, although I did see a sneaky Italian Tourist take one.

And then it was off to Tower Hill for a walk along Southbank.

There are few things better in London Town than the sun shining on Brick Lane on a Saturday afternoon. Everybody is happy and selling things and drinking beer or Pimms.

I saw these two beautiful girls as I walked back to Spitalfields and I couldn't not have taken their photos.

I had to beg them with flattery because they were busy selling pretty things for your hair. But it was worth it, I think. Aren't they just so naturally beautiful?

One night in Melbourne spent up on the roof, high above the rest of the city, in deck chairs, under blankets, eating crepes and drinking cocktails. 

It couldn't have been a better evening to have spent watching Peter Sellers in The Party.

The Roof Top Cinema, and the city's beautiful art deco influence are two of the top three things I love about Melbourne.

I wasn't too fussed about where we would go on our honeymoon. I said that I was more than happy for us to spend two nights in Paris on The Long Drive Home from our wedding, and left Jason to decide.

We ended up in Cuba.

I had never been to a country like this before. It was not the time-warp I was expecting but instead, a raw and wide-open city. Derelict buildings, a heavy, heavy heat and the tricky charm of the natives made it quite an intoxicating experience.

It's a strange country and Havana an unusual and distinctive city. I don't think I could hurry back, but it was definitely worth the visit, not merely because it was our honeymoon, more so because it was just so different.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a truly beautiful wedding in Hampstead, north west London back in June.

I sat down to talk to Eleanor about her plans - everything had been so well
thought-out and so intricately detailed, I came away after our two hour 'brief-meet', inspired and excited.

The ceremony was held at Rosslyn Hill Chapel, at the tail end of Hampstead High St.
Preparations began with the bridal party, then it was an excited rush to Rosslyn Hill Chapel to catch some of the preparations - Eleanor & Steve have very talented friends who helped decorate the chapel with a travel theme and then pitched in to play organ, piano, read poetry and sing for the ceremony.

It was a most beautiful day with a reception at Hampstead Heath's elegant Kenwood House. Eleanor made the most beautiful bride and new, dear friend.

This is my biggest and most boisterous wedding to date. Aided by my dutiful fiancé and guarder of memory cards, a beautiful full-format D700 & a 24-70mm superfast lens, which helped me avoid the Evil Flash; I photographed Barry & Yvonne's wedding in April at Marylebone Town Hall in Westminster, London.

I had such a great time at this wedding; good friends, strong personalities, an open bar and a dancefloor absolutely owned by the bride.

I am always excited by how many beautiful books there are in the world, and sometimes disappointed at how little time I can make to read them.
Last year's favourites included The Genius of Photography which accompanied the BBC television series and documents a brief history of photography and it's importance in modern day society.

One of the best engagement presents we got was in my opinion, The Great Life Photographers, and I added to my small collection with The Henri Cartier Bresson Scrapbook, which is just beautiful, even before it's opened.

So, imagine my surprise when I was bought two books in one go, both on two of my favourite subjects: photographers and photobooths. Annie Leibovitz At Work I haven't even opened yet, as it deserves a day all to itself with warm socks and lit candles, but this one needed cracking open immediately:

American Photobooth explores the history of the... American photobooth, and some of the kooks who've entered them over the years. I have always been fascinated with photostrips of this sort, and Nåkki Goranin does an excellent and intriguing job in stringing the story together.

I started my own collection of photostrips of unknowns, which I'd found in Rome. There was one photobooth which never failed-en route to the city's immigration office, where you needed to provide 4 passport photos. I guess it must have been a very tempremental machine, as there were almost always photos left abandoned, which I would scoop up on my way to the bus stop, shove in a book and leave in my bag until I got home. It would've been quite obvious the photos I was holding were not my own, and I didn't want to look like a weirdo.

I found it interesting to look at these people, and how they posed when they knew that no-one was watching, but that someone would eventually see. There was almost always a deadness in their eyes, or a twisted top lip or brow frozen, challengingly.

I have always loved a good photobooth, not just for photos of people I don't know, but of course, for photos of me or us or them. I spent a lot of time in photobooths with my best friends in high school, before the hyper-revolution of the Harajuku anime booth, with frames and glitter mandatory.
I still carry a photo on my keys of my sister and I which is 10 years old, of us and our best gangster pose. I made her sit right at the front, so her head was bigger than mine, as it's quite the opposite in real life.

This book has gone some of the way in making me feel a tiny bit better about not having scanned our Melbourne storystrip before a candle caught it alight in my bedroom. Whenever I think back to it, I'll be looking at these instead.

I went to see the Annie Leibovitz exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery last week, just a few days before it was due to close.

Doesn't she look like her dad?!

There is no doubt in my mind that she is a tremendous and accomplished photographer; just a google image search of her name alone brings up more than 80,000 results, having been commissioned to work with iconic celebrities from Angelina Jolie to the Queen Mother throughout her professional career.

I was enthralled to see so much of her work in the Vanity Fair exhibition held at the NPG last year, so I was expecting more of the same this time around; magical fairytale-esque portraits of Hollywood's hottest, seemingly candid portraits of the bold and the beautiful.

What I was surprised to be more drawn in by, was the family portraits on display from her personal annals.

Incredibly delicate captures of her mother and father in softening sunlight on a boat somewhere, her beautiful, picture-perfect daughter and the relaxed intimacy of her relationship with the inimitable Susan Sontag.

This for me, is a little piece of magic. I've loved this style of photography since I first came across Simon Pais-Thomas on Flickr not long ago. He creates eery floating shoes which look like someone has just stepped out of them, that your eyes want to and almost do believe.

The above is some recent work by Denis Darzacq taken in a supermarket. Now I love a good supermarket as much as the next girl, presuming there isn't anybody else around of course, but the idea of leaping for joy and reaching for the stars down the aisles had never occurred to me until now. I'll see you down at Sainsbury's Local.

I've loved this blog, for so long.

I've often wondered just how real they are-so dark, so outlandish, at times so infantile. Logging in on a Monday to check the latest installment, I'm always stirred by something; the honesty or inventiveness, of these offerings.

In any case, I love it because at some point, the chances are they're real for someone, somewhere in the world.
Frank Warren, Man In Charge of PostSecret has made an appeal to the PS community, to buy the four books they've published in order to keep adverts off the site. I think it's a fair exchange.

Wedding Bells... | Chloe Browne: London Wedding photographer

...are a-ringing. I've finally drawn-up a Save The Date to email, with the intention of printing and posting proper invites as soon as we're back from the other side of the world.

With just 7 months until The Big Day, looking for a wedding photographer has become exhausting.

I'm in love with Michele M Waite, who is positively fantastic-but she's having a baby around the date of our wedding. Both brilliant and at the same time, sad.

Also on my list of Photographers I Wish I Was is Mel Barlow who is utterly stunning.

I think it's time I thought outside the British Wedding Photographer box. I'm disappointed with the lack of ingenuinity, or maybe it's just the google results. I want genuine reportage. I can't 'smile for the camera', or rather I won't.

The quest continues... interview number 3 is lined up for this weekend. Wish me luck.
